Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) actively connects with the national "innovation-driven" strategy and implements the strategic deployment of Shanghai to build a science and technology innovation center with global influence. SCIP makes all-out efforts to accelerate the construction of Shanghai International Chemical New Materials Innovation Center (INNOGREEN Innovation Oasis), positioning it as a crucial hub of SCIP for adhering to innovation-led development and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces.

Innovation Oasis adheres to the directions of "innovation-led, open co-construction, industry-city integration, and coordinated development", targets new track fields such as advanced materials, integrated circuit, biomanufacturing, circular economy, clean energy etc., and promotes industrial upgrading centering on scientific and technological innovation. It strives to enhance the integrated innovation, collaborative application, advanced manufacturing, and industrial impact for chemical new materials, realize the coordinated development of the industrial chain and the innovation chain, and serve to support the construction of Shanghai's "(2+2)+ (3+6)+ (4+5)" modern industrial system. Its goal is to build a chemical new material industry cluster and an innovation source with global influence.

SCIP works with famous domestic and foreign institutions of higher education, research institutions, key companies, and partners in neighboring areas in establishing Shanghai International Chemical New Materials Innovation Allliance.

An expert committee was established and a new type of innovation ecosystem putting together government, industries, academia, research institutions, commercialization capabilities and capital was put in place to promote cooperative innovation between upstream and downstream in a cross-discipline and cross-regional manner in a bid to work out a new path for collaborative innovation.
