As one of the first industrial parks in China to undertake responsible care, SCIP is committed to embracing different dimensions of Responsible Care including safety, environmental protection, health and social responsibility while connecting it with the Five Integration development philosophy so as to think outside of the box to practice the Five In One work principle for responsible care characterized by government leadership, enterprise as the main player, facilitation by industry associations, employee participation and interaction with community, thus enabling companies to become more proactive players.

SCIP adopts strict screening criteria in qualifying tenant companies
SCIP requires all tenant companies to attach equal importance to both product manufacturing life cycle oversight and employee welfare, health and skillset training, thus forming a prevalent corporate culture and code of conduct of social care on campus.

SCIP holds safe production to the most stringent standards
SCIP adopts scientifically-based method in evaluating maximum capacity for safe development of all industries on campus, strengthens safety oversight and supervision over hazardous chemicals and its chemical manufacturing process, and puts in place a management system monitoring and overseeing major hazards at the source.

SCIP has put in place an emergency response system to ensure speedy and immediate disposal of emergencies
SCIP is building and improving a three-tiered emergency response and disposal system where the Emergency Response Center is placed at the center as the main platform, supported by collaborative and coordinated efforts from other public stakeholders including public security, fire control, border control, health care, environmental protection, quality inspection, flood control, etc.

SCIP adopts advanced technology to strengthen ecological environment protection
SCIP is building and improving environmental quality monitoring and key pollutant source monitoring system to control pollutant discharge. Environmental impact assessment is conducted every five years. A holistic management and control approach is adopted to put some control over total pollutant discharge volume and centralize pollution prevention and control.

SCIP has taken innovative measures to promote circular economy development
As one of the first batch of China’s circular economy pilot parks, SCIP has closed the loop at three levels, the corporate, campus-wide, and regional level so as to form a system of recycled use of resources made of innovative gradient-based utilization of resources, new energy usage, recycled use of water resources and combined utilization of hazardous wastes.

SCIP aims to ensure occupational health by controlling danger and hazard at the source
SCIP conducts reviews and acceptance management for resident companies’ project occupational hazard “pre-evaluation and control outcome assessment” to effectively minimize occupational hazardous risks.
